The Story Behind My Martini Photograph

The Story behind my Martini photograph: My son wanted a photo for his wall and at the time he was at University and had "discovered" Vodka and had collected some bottles and started buying books and learning more about the different levels of quality. Surprisingly he wasn't interested in chugging vast quantities as shooters. So he asked me if I could take a photo of a vodka mixed drink, he also informed me at the time Martinis were trending in clubs around town and maybe I should look at doing that. My standard style of photography in those days was stock photography, all photographed on white backgrounds so graphic artists and designers could cut the image out and use it in a montage style composition. This time I wanted to try something else, so I went of a low light moody look, similar to finding a Martini on a bar in a dark nightclub. The splash of red was intentional just to give the image a pop and a tip of the hat to female viewers and Valentines Day. This photograph is very dear to me as it was inspired by my son and I have uploaded it and made it available as wall art on Fine Art America, so you can order a variety of print products from greeting cards, framed prints to posters
